Rovaniemi - European Capital of Culture 2026
Two or more European cities are selected annually for capitals of culture by European Commission, and they organize cultural events with a European focus. Previously selected cities are Helsinki and Turku. Rovaniemi represents a completely different perspective of Finnish (and Lappish) culture.

The committee should include representatives of various fields of culture, such as ministry of culture, faculty of arts in the University of Lapland and cultural organizations.
