Changing Massidea from a dumpsite to idea-farm!
This site could inhibit some more interesting and innovating ways to collect and promote good ideas. It could incorporate more graphical interfaces to the idea postings, more possibilities to follow interactions, more involvement from outside organizations (not just AMKs) and a better future for the ideas.
There is a lot of different idea gathering software solutions out there. Each of those present some great features how to gather and rate ideas.
What i would like to see is when you come to massidea page then you are presented with a random idea from the database to give it more exposure. I think even now there are great ideas somewhere below all the other ones, but no one is exposed to these to spark off idea improvements, suggestions, ratings and such.
Also most viewed ideas should be set a side as a possibility to view them but not a main ranking list of the contents of massidea. Because the most viewed ideas are certainly not the best ones, they might just have good caption or some other reason. Instead rankings should be based by for example by most commented or most rated.
And rating can be multidirectional (jaw dropping, cutting edge, boring, heard this before, bad idea etc) not just linear (thumbs-up vs thumbs down).
There could be more cooperation with outside organizations like local government agencies and business corporations who could at least comment or rate the ideas to elevate the motivation of the massidea community into participating more and also bring in more users.
More graphics to the post could help explaining the idea much more easily. Pictures and linked videos could be shown straight in the post. Not just http:// links. Also the Idea post in general could use the picture in the headline do illustrate the headline which makes the browsing of the website more user friendly.
Community forums where people could discuss topics should be more available. Following campaigns and groups can be nuisance because of the strange linking system and commenting boards. And also you dont see your groups and campaigns and groups on the homepage.
If you make changes in a article you have published, then if there is "" signs they will be automatically turned in to " text and if not changed back into signs will be published with the changes.
I challange you to question all the main orthodoxies and principles of massidea.org. To turn them playfully upside down and inside out. To find new connections and unseen possibilities.
For example i question why could we not start CRASHING ideas into each other to find formerly unseen discontinuities and develop winning ideas out of those. There could be a interactive tool of somekind to visualize this task.
Also idea ping-ponging would be interesting to try - this means creating an idea and then sending it back and fort between each other and then after some time its assessed or submitted to rating. This could be in a form of an actual game of some kind to make it interesting and fun.

1) a small list of different professional software solutions http://www.ideaconnection.com/software/
2) a great example of multidirectional voting system called "first expression" on the left side of the blog-post http://www.askmen.com/sports/bodybuilding_400/418_golf-workout.html
3)An example of collaborative working for fun is the photoshoping threads from forums and messageboards where all the people start alterating one picture to generate thousands of different variations and putting the original action, character or scene into other known scenes like movie posters or other viral pictures.

The whole structure needs to be improved, at the current stage it is not attractive or user friendly at all. I would like to bring up the structure and search of desired groups in Massidea. And finally, as I was again biting my fingers today, the speed of showing lists, articles or whatever has to be improved.
At the current stage it actually takes quite an effort to work with Massidea and it is not very easy to motivate or reason to the students to join and use massidea voluntarily.
It's highly important to create added value for users now that the jungle of social media/idea sharing/problem solving solutions is growing.
Personally I'm especially interested in developing the rating system (Please see, the idea I linked to this article)and hence how content is presented in the Hall-of-Fame or even on the front page (both of which should be more vibrant and on constant motion).
Can you link this article to this campaign http://www.massidea.org/en/campaign/view/115 please?
