The development of services for the people with limitations

-

There are lots of people in the world, who can’t travel properly because of some sort of limitation. In the worst case, they can not travel at all. In this case we are talking about people who are not able to cope alone with all the things that are connected to travelling. For instance physical limitation, hearingproblems, visionproblems and old age can be this kind of limitations. Some people also may have strong food- or textileallergies which makes travelling very hard. Also people who are notably taller or smaller than an average person can find it difficult to, for example, sleep in a normal hotel bed. Also persons who have problems with weight can find it difficult to travel. For instance in an aeroplane it can be very uncomfortable to sit in a small seat and it might cause problems to the person sitting next to you, but you can’t ask a larger person to buy two tickets just because he or she is a bit heavier.
The professionals working in the field of tourism should try to develop travellingservices so that all the people with some sort of limitations could have better possibilities to travel as well. For instance different forms of traffic should take it into account that it might be difficult to travel in an aeroplane if you are over six and a half feet tall. There should be more space for these people. And the same way, special attention should be payed also for the shorter people.
Also hotels and other accommodationoptions should develop their services more suitable for the limited travellers. All the people who sit in a wheel chair need an elevator, but also more space to move with their wheel chairs. Door openings and the actual rooms have to be very spacious and in the toilets there have to be some specialdevices to help the customer and the chairs and tables have to be suitable for a person with a wheel chair or extremely long legs.
We think that all the businesses in the field of tourism should advance their services as much as they can to ease the travelling of the people with limitations so that they could enjoy their journeys as comfortably as possible. So would it be possible to develop the tourist industry so that it would be axiomatic for the persons with limitations to have the same basic services as most of the citizens? Every one should have the same possibility to travel and see the world.
