GLOBAL WARMING ‎

The floods and storms we’re experiencing now will become more frequent.

A 73 year old villager in Tuvalu an island in the Pacific Ocean does not need scientific evidence to convince ‎him that the sea levels are rising because beaches of his childhood are already sinking and the crops that ‎used to feed his family have been poisoned forcing him to leave and seek refuge somewhere else. ‎

This is partly because the icy glaciers are melting and the sea is expanding causing sea levels to rise at an ‎extraordinary rate causing small islands like the Tuvalu mentioned above and many other low-lying ‎landmasses such as the Netherlands, Florida, Shanghai, Calcutta and Bangladesh to sink forcing millions of ‎people to sick refuge elsewhere and some researchers believe that even if pollution could cease today, ‎the effects of past abuses to the atmosphere could still last for another 100 years. ‎

For instance, the provinces of Salzburg in Austria were hit hard by severe rainstorms and at Vienna's ‎Südbahnhof station a thunderstorm caused a train accident that injured several people and in Germany ‎Residents fled their hometowns in thousands as some were rescued from the floods by boats or ‎helicopters as never before in the history of the Federal Republic have towns and villages been ‎evacuated to such an extent.‎

Research question: What can we do to stop global warming? ‎
