Food is art, food is business
People already thousands of years ago learned how to enjoy food. Nowadays there are people who eat to not to feel hungry-and fast, and people who enjoy food. Restaurant business - is there still anything new that could be invented?
While visiting event "Food is art" in Tampere few weeks ago I had a question in my mind - is there anything else that could be invented in restaurant business. Seting up a restaurant seems to be a quite good idea but it should differ from others in order to attract new customers and that is the difficult part.
Because of the huge fast-food industry people have to learn again how to enjoy food. Not only a quick snack to satisfy our hunger but a real meal with taste and the sensation of enjoying our food.
Nowadays a nice Italian or Mexican restaurant doesn't surprise anyone, even sushi is nothing really special. Because of many opportunities to taste foreign food even without traveling outside our town or city people often don't appreciate the different tastes and flavors that they can enjoy.
Something extraordinary - even those things are already realized - people can eat while being under water, they can eat at the same table with their animals and so on. So here comes the challenge what innovations could be done to attract customers to a restaurant?
