OLPC Foundation's one Laptop per Child Program Could change the world.
Some people can not even think of a day without computer. Imagine a day when all the computer stopped suddenly, would not the world suddenly feel like came to an end ? yes, that how deeply computer has been involved in our life and the OLPC foundation envision of a world where every child will have a computer.
Once computers were like the rich man's toy pot. The general public could only dream about it. Today, as the technology shaped the world, moor's law has doubled the computer power almost every two years and the demand and need of economics has made it possible for the computer price to drop to a level where it is affordable for almost everyone. Although there are some countries where not a large number number of people have computer and some who has computers do not have internet connection. Computer without an internet connection leaves one out of a vast computing world, the mesh networks of information.
The OLPC foundation has designed an affordable around 100 dollar computer to be provided to every children mainly in the least developed countries. Despite some critics, the programme is still on going and UN had backed the programme for development by a statement that says "technology and resources to targeted schools in the least developed countries". This dream of one laptop per child could change the forever if the dream achieved.
