Many trips that are air bound have been brought to a stampede in recent times. This is as a result of the strike actions in most airlines. Apart from the problem the major stakeholders in the aviation industries experience as a result of this, many businesses has suffered because of this too. This is not to talk of the damages it could cause some individuals. Sometimes, airline seems to find a way out in the event of this kind of situation, but this is not always the case.

British Airways launched a print a print ad advertising campaign to emphasise its efforts to reduce disruption to customers during the strike by cabin crew. The advertisement had a format of an open letter from their chief executive, Willie Walsh, and it stated that the airline will keep their “flag flying”. However, he told the campaign marketing of UK that some cabin crews exist that does not believe in the strike action. He also wrote about the political criticism of the strike. The campaign stood on the ground that trade union unity leading to wrong decision and misjudging the situations. (Business Day, www.businessdayonline.com) But this kind of measure might not be productive in a long run. The effort to contain the situation should be base on long term.

British Airway is not the only airline that is shaken by strike, Airfrance, Turkish Airline and others has also been affected by strike. And there is a very high likelihood that that airline that has not be affected for a very long time might be affected anytime soon. There have to be a permanent solution to this kind of strike. However, there are some sectors that cannot go on strike incessantly or at all in some countries. Examples are the security forces.

Research question: How is the permanent solutions to strike actions in the aviation industry?
