Climate change which is as a result of increasing greenhouse emission has been affecting biodiversity around the world and has been predicted to cause more devastating impart in the future if nothing is done sooner or later. Finland is not an inception in the nations that will be affected.

However, various studies have shown that Finland temperature will increase from 2, 4 to 7, 4 degrees Celsius almost before the end of 21st century. The impact of climate change will be felt on Finnish nature, species and species distribution.

The impact of climate change in the years to come is going to take a more devastating turn if nothing is done sooner. The increasing rising of sea level as a result of the melting of the arctic ice is going to make many Islands to be completely submerged in water. In this regards, one of Finland Island, Åland Islands, could be taking over by water. Also there could be decline in the salinity of the sea water, which is one of the driving forces behind the circulation of Northern Europe ocean currents. If the salinity of the North Atlantic falls below certain levels, the stream along the gulf of Northern Europe could stop flowing or change direction. This kind of change could lead to a potential havoc – causing cooling in the climate instead of a warming in the Northern part of Europe, including Finland.

According to a source, over the last 30 years in Finland, the annual growing season in Finland has become longer. This seems to be a positive effect to me. If the growing season is lengthened, there would be more food production. But on the whole, there will also be an adverse effect in this situation. This kind of seasonal-change, which is favourable for some condition, might not be favourable for some other conditions. For example there might be irregular migration and extinction of species during this period of time.

Tourism is one of Finland famous attribute, and a negative impact in this industry as a result of climate change on Finnish nature will be devastating to this industry.
