Organic vs. non-organic
Researchers says that organic food has no extra benefits.
Organic food, or natural production is an environment a less loading production form which respects the own systems of the nature and circulation. Organic production contains a plant and animal production as well as collection product that comes from nature.
Next two researches were concentrated on organic food’s health aspect.
Organic food has no more nutritional value than food grown with pesticides, acclaims Dr Susanne Bugel and colleagues from the Department of Human Nutrition, University of Copenhagen (2008). This research is found from the Society of Chemical Industry’s (SCI) Journal of the Science of Food and Agriculture. (http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2008/08/080807082954.htm).
Although there are differences in food’s nutritive values, there is no evidence to support the argument that organic food is better than food grown with the use of pesticides and chemicals.
Less than a third of organic food’s nutritive values were different than conventional produced food. According to the researchers, the differences were so small that they do not have significance from the point of view of the general health. In the C-vitamin values, calcium values and iron values of both organic food and ordinary products there were not any differences. The same result came up when examining meat, milk products and eggs.
Critics say that the makers of the research haven’t take into account pesticides and its residues.
Updated information to this matter comes from Daily Mail (28th May, 2010). Clarification of the German consumer organization notice that organic food has no extra health benefits. Organic food is approximately 30 per cent more expensive than ordinary food, although there are know difference in quality.
Of 13 organic baby food products contained too little fat and often too little iron for babies’ nutritional needs.
This is difficult matter. I think organic food have more positive sides than negative.
Organic production has many advantages: it economizes energy and avoids chemicals, maintains diversity, less watering helps the soil to be in better condition and moisture. And it much less burdens the water system.
What do You think about that?
Research question: Is organic food healthier choice than non-organic?
