Parental care, children psychology and government role

Parental care should be taken more seriously in Finland. In Finland, children are usually under the care of their parents from 0 to 18 years; and from 18 years, they become independent. Sometimes, the sign of poor parental care usually start to have a stronger grip on the children from the teenage stage.
It is very important for parent to start getting help for their children when they are at a very tender age. The little problem that children encounters when they are still below the age of 13 should not be ignored by parents. There are some children that start getting worried about their skill problem or physical appearance at a very tender age. If the parent can not personally handle the situation, they should try and seek help for the children from an expert.
There are some children that start smoking and taking alcohol at a very tender age. In most cases, the parent would be aware of the activities of their children and also, the parent might not be aware of their children activities. In either ways, the parents should be responsible for anything their children do. Parent should be able to somehow know the kind of activities their children are into. If a parent discovers any negative activities in a child, they should immediately get help for the child before it become too late.
However, the government still has a role to play in this area. The burden of the citizen above the age of 18 is more felt by the government. If many of the youths in this nation start having problems from this age, the country will be affected in many ways – The government will have to spend more on medical or psychological rehabilitation, the labour force will be affected, lack of innovation, increase in violence, increase in suicide cases, etc. So, it is very important for the government to also play a role in the upkeep of the children even when they are under the control of their parent.
Government should setup watchful eyes on children in the street that are into negative activities and try to traits them to their parents for help. The government can also provide a free children psychology facilities were parent can get help for their children. I understand that this facilities already exist, but more should be done make this facilities more functional and free for all, regardless of the financial status of the parents.
